BIO

Bishop Clarence Williams has been pastoring for well over twenty years.  He has a God-given mission to train and prepare men and women to fulfill their destiny in life in Christ Jesus.

Clarence Williams grew up in Northern Florida and attended the Baker County High School. On January 3, 1976, Clarence married his high school sweetheart and the love of his life - Wanda Givens. They have two children.

Clarence joined the US Army, and in 1978 he and his wife Wanda, received Jesus Christ as their personal savior while stationed in West Germany. They served in the Community Gospel Service in Sweinfurt, Germany from 1978-1981. It was there that Clarence received his calling into the ministry. He had the privilege of pastoring the Gospel Service for one year before returning to the continental United States.

Their assignment led them to Ft. Stewart, Georgia where they again got involved with the Gospel Service on post.  They saw the service grow tremendously; at times hundreds of people attended.  Clarence taught Bible study and marriage enrichment classes. While stationed at Ft. Stewart, Clarence was ordained an Elder in the Church of God in Christ.

In 1983 the Williams family found themselves back overseas; this time in Giessen, West Germany. They would stay for seven years and the Lord used them and elevated them in ministry. Respected and trusted by the Army Chaplains, Elder Clarence Williams was appointed pastor over the Giessen Gospel Service. In less than a year the Lord tremendously added to the Gospel Service to the point where they had to move to a larger chapel. Under the pastorate of Clarence Williams the Giessen Gospel Service became one of the largest worship services in West Germany. Many souls were saved and filled with the Holy Spirit.

Pastor Clarence Williams was appointed superintendent of the Fourth District, Germany Jurisdiction, for the Church of God in Christ by Bishop Carlis L. Moody.

The Williams family returned to the states in 1990 and on May 31, 1992, eight people gathered in the home of Clarence and Wanda Williams and through much prayer the interdenominational Living Word of Christ Church was founded. The ministry has grown into the Living Word Covenant Fellowship with a total of nine churches - two in Kansas, two in North Carolina, one in Missouri, South Carolina, Arizona, New York and Texas. It is the Lord's doing, and it's marvelous in our eyes.

On October 3, 1993, he retired from the United States Army with various awards, medals and citations. He served in Operations Desert Shield/Desert Storm in Saudi Arabia and Operation Restore Hope in Somalia, West Africa.

After much prayer, observation and a catechism, three representatives of The College of Bishops (the deceased Bishop Quander Wilson, Bishop Glenn Frasier and Bishop Alan Porter), consecrated and ordained Pastor Clarence Williams to the office of Bishop on May 28, 1999.

Bishop Williams has an Associates Degree in Bible and Pastoral Ministry and a Bachelor Degree in Management and Ethics from Manhattan Christian College. He was awarded the National Church Growth and Evangelism Award  and recognized by Heritage Registry of Who's Who for excellence in religion and church organization. On
Jul 22, 2005 The Minnesota Graduate School of Theology conferred upon Bishop Williams the graduate degree - Doctor of Ministry.

God has given Dr. Clarence R. Williams, Jr. a mandate to raise up leaders, plant churches, and see all members of the Kingdom of God live victorious and prosperous lives in Christ Jesus.
